Mini Academy is designed for students who:

Want to learn academic English,

Want to develop the mindset of a global citizen,

But are not yet suitable or do not have the time to attend full-time at Sunshine Village Academy.

Therefore, the program is designed flexibly – both online and offline – allowing students who are far away or busy to still access a standard international program.

MINI ACADEMY PROGRAM
The Mini Academy is designed based on 50% of the Sunshine Village Academy program, focusing on the two most important subjects to build an international foundation: Math & Academic English.
1. Elementary School (Grades 1–5)
Mini Academy students will study half of the Academy curriculum, including:

• English – Academic English

• Math – English-language critical thinking math

Based on the American curriculum (Florida Standard & Common Core), this helps students:

Develop academic vocabulary

Improve reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills

Build a foundation in English for future international studies

Using the American math system helps students:

Develop logical thinking

Solve problems

Approach math in English

(Instead of studying Math – English – Social Studies – Science like Academy, Mini Academy selects the two most essential subjects so students can keep up even when attending other schools.)

2. Middle School (Grades 6–9)
Mini Academy uses the international Edmentum curriculum – the same system as Academy, but with subjects selected to fit the two-grade time allocation. Hours/Days:

Math – International Math (Edmentum)
English – Academic English (Edmentum)
The remaining subjects (Science, Social Studies…) are omitted to avoid overload, but still ensure students have:

A foundation in international mathematical thinking

Sufficiently strong academic English

Critical thinking & study skills according to American standards

3. Why only Math & English?

Because these are the two most important pillars for building students' international competence:

Math → logic – analysis – problem-solving

English → academic language – communication – foundation for studying abroad

With these two foundations strong, students can pursue any international program later (including Academy, IB, A-level, AP…).

With 2 hours per day, retaining two core subjects helps students learn in depth and effectively without being overwhelmed, suitable for students attending public, private, or international schools.

HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM – MINI ACADEMY
Upon entering high school, Mini Academy students still have full access to international programs preparing them for university, including:

AP (Advanced Placement)
Advanced courses based on US standards to build strong application profiles.

SAT test preparation with strategies tailored to individual abilities.

Global Orientation

Students will:

Receive career guidance using a Life Map

Participate in group projects

Build a career portfolio

Prepare study abroad applications early

Connect with international advisors at Sunshine Village

Even while studying at Mini Academy, students still have a clear and well-structured international learning path.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ACADEMY & MINI ACADEMY
1. SUNSHINE VILLAGE ACADEMY (ACA) – Full Program
Academy students receive a complete Sunshine program with 4 pillars:

Full American Program
Students learn all subjects of the American curriculum.

40 extracurricular activities – STEAM – arts – sports
Developing all-round abilities and talents.

Life Coach & Character Development
Monthly management of personality, behavior, worldview, and manners.

Developing inner self – worldview – and profound values.

Complete Global Pathway
Portfolio from a young age

Career orientation from grade 6

International competitions

1:1 Mentoring

Global scholarship and study abroad pathways

→ Academy = an environment that helps children develop comprehensively in academics – character – confidence – personality – and future.

2. MINI ACADEMY – OFFLINE

50% of the Academy program
Academic English

English-language critical thinking math

(Selected from the US and Edmentum programs)

Includes Life Coaching, but with less time.
Includes meditation, emotional management, behavior modification, global citizenship…
→ But not as in-depth as the Academy program due to limited hours.

No 40 extracurricular activities.

Lack of arts, sports, and creative skills activities.

Has a global orientation but requires additional family support.

Because school time is limited, parents need to cooperate in:

Character building

Practicing manners

Practicing parenting at home

Ensuring a healthy environment for children's development

→ Mini Academy Offline = a suitable choice for busy families who still want their children to have an international foundation.

3. MINI ACADEMY – ONLINE

Academic focus only: Math & English
Cannot delve deeply into:

Personality

Worldview

Behavior

Meditation

Life coaching

Parents must be more actively involved
The school will send:

Parenting program

Instruction videos

Life skills checklist

→ For parents to implement at home to replace parts that cannot be taught online.

Still has a global orientation

But parents and the school must cooperate closely to shape character and habits.

→ Mini ACADEMY Online = a solution for students who live far away, but requires more parental involvement.
